MP Bonita Zarrillo Opens up the Nomination process for King Charles III Coronation Medals

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 23, 2024

Coquitlam – Member of Parliament Bonita Zarrillo is pleased to announce that she is accepting nominations to recognize 20 exceptional residents of Port Moody, Coquitlam, Anmore, and Belcarra as part of a nationwide initiative to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III.

The medals will be awarded to residents who have made significant contributions to Canada, or to a particular Canadian province, territory, region, or community. Each Member of Parliament has been allocated 20 medals to award, with a total of 30,000 medals being distributed across the country.

MP Bonita Zarrillo is calling on the public to nominate deserving residents who have demonstrated outstanding service and dedication to the community. Nominations are open until October 31, 2024. Medals can be awarded posthumously, provided the nominee was alive on May 6, 2023, the date of King Charles III's coronation.

Special consideration will be given to educators, health care providers, and community workers. We would also encourage nominators to put forward the names of individuals who reflect the diversity of the communities in which we live.

"This is an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of our constituents,” said MP Zarrillo. "This is an opportunity to celebrate the dedication and hard work of individuals who have made a real difference in our community and beyond."
