Virtual Town Hall on Affordable Housing

Bonita Zarillo, Member of Parliament for Port Moody — Coquitlam, hosted a virtual town hall featuring guest speakers Jenny Kwan, MP, Vancouver East, NDP Critic for Housing, Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship; Thom Armstrong, Executive Director, Coop Housing Federation of BC; Jill Atkey, CEO, BC Non-Profit Housing Association; and Kari Michaels, Executive Vice President BCGEU, to discuss solutions to the housing affordability crisis impacting residents.

Speakers highlighted that after years of underfunding the Liberal government has much more to do to make up for the rapid loss of affordable housing. What the government deems “affordable” is still far too expensive for most families, and we need increased public investment to end the crisis.

Virtual Town Hall on the Disability Tax Credit

Bonita Zarrillo, Member of Parliament for Port Moody - Coquitlam, and the Disability Alliance of BC successfully hosted a Virtual Town Hall on the Disability Tax Credit.

The Virtual Town Hall was attended by a diverse group of individuals with disabilities, their families and caregivers, and members of the broader community. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences with government programs and support available to them.

Iranian Cultural Evening

Wednesday, April 5th @ 7:00PM PST

Bonita Zarrillo, Member of Parliament for Port Moody – Coquitlam, in partnership with MLA Fin Donnelly and the Iranian Seniors Club, hosted an Iranian Cultural event at Coquitlam’s Evergreen Cultural Centre. The event was enjoyed by over 250 guests, including community leaders, local politicians, and members of the Iranian-Canadian community.
